What is Ladue Dance Marathon?

Ladue Dance Marathon (LadueDM) is a member of a nationwide organization (Dance Marathon) that spreads awareness of the Children’s Miracle Network mission and raises funds to support our two local children’s hospitals: St. Louis Children’s Hospital and SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.

Our goal is to spread awareness of the CMNH-STL mission and raise funds to ensure that no child or family has to face pediatric injury or illness alone.

Both colleges and high schools participate in dance marathons; LadueDM is the first and remains the most active and successful high school Dance Marathon in the state of Missouri. Ladue students fundraise throughout the year and then celebrate their hard work at the LadueDM Main Event. This is when students gather together and remain on their feet for 6 hours dancing, playing, celebrating, and listening to the stories of our Miracle Kids (local Children’s Miracle Network ambassadors).

What is Children's Miracle Network?

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals of Greater St. Louis equally benefits St. Louis Children’s Hospital and SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital who provide over 475,000 patient visits each year. Donations stay local to fund critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care. 62 children enter a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital for treatment every minute – that’s one child every second. Some are battling cancer. Some are suffering from traumatic injury. Others require constant care because they were born to early, or with a genetic disease. Regardless of why the kids are there, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals always have their doors open.

OVER THE YEARS

What happens at Ladue Dance Marathon?

The LadueDM Main Event is a high-energy celebration of a year-long awareness and fundraising campaign.  At the six-hour Main Event, held on the first Saturday of February at LHWHS, each hour is assigned a fun and unique theme in which the participants dress and the music is played accordingly. Throughout the event a Miracle Family, a family of a child who has been treated at one of the CMN hospitals and serves as an ambassador for CMN, shares their story.

Each hour the LadueDM Morale Team teaches part of a dance that correlates with the themes and by the end of the event all of the students know the whole dance and dance together. The event has food, dancing, games, photos, raffles to win prizes and lots of fun! Finally, at the end of the event, we reveal the grand total of how much we raised FOR THE KIDS! FTK!
